| The list that follows represents opportunities for ministry in a
worship-related venue. If this is an area where you feel you can serve the Lord,
contact a member of the Board of Deacons or the church office.
Liturgist (worship leader)
This is typically a deacon, but anyone who would like to sing the leader parts
of the liturgy can participate. Contact a deacon for more details.
Usher
Men and women of the community greet, seat, count people, direct the offering
and Holy Communion during church services.
Lector (Reader)
Read the assigned texts prior to the Gospel during the service.
Cantor
Singer assists by leading the chanting of the Psalm during the service.
Acolyte
Young people typically assist during the service by lighting and extinguishing
candles, distribution of Holy Communion, and other tasks as are directed by the
deacon.
Senior Choir
Trained and untrained voices welcome (and needed) to provide important musical
leadership in church services.
Altar Guild
This group takes care of the altar for all services and decorates the church for
special seasons.
